The spring semester is in full swing, and I am very excited about all my classes I am taking. I'll say one thing: I am not the morning person that I used to be. Every semester it gets harder and harder for me to get up to go on campus so early. What has made it worse is the fact that now I live so far away and have to add an extra 45 minutes onto my commute. For example: I needed to get onto campus by 7:30 this morning which meant I got up at 6. I missed the appointment at 7:30, and my next
reason for being on campus this early was at 8:15, which I remembered once I was here that I had switched to noon. So basically, I missed out on an extra 2 hours of sleep to be here writing this blog. Maybe that is just the karma I get for ignoring it so often.I am taking a few Spanish classes, a Literature class, and a finance class: 15 credits total. The Spanish classes come naturally to me, so I think I won't have to work too hard to do well in them. The only kicker is that my finance class is a 5-10pm class once a week. The learning side of my brain usually shuts off at about 2pm, so by the night time I am aleady a few hours into play-mode!
The good news is that last semester I got RAPED once again by the campus bookstore, but this semester I did all my buying online and only spent about $200 on books as opposed to the $500+ last semester. I can't say I truly hate many things.
Shopping for clothes, cleaning the bathroom, Karrie's cold feet in bed, popped collars, BYU, morning breath and a 3-hour church block are examples of things i strongly dislike. I can honestly say that I HATE HATE HAAAATE the campus bookstore. It is the only place where you can go and spend hundreds of dollars at the store, and if you take longer than an hour in doing so, your parking validation means nothing and you still have to pay for parking. I hate the bookstore.I am super busy with work also right now. I hope to get 11 more hires in the next 4 weeks, which will put me at 30 total for this summer. The good thing is that all my hires are very solid, and they all seem to be very willing to work hard and learn.
Karrie and I are trying to paint one room in the house per month. We almost already have 2 done, which will get us out till Feb. This is one of our 2008 goals, and we will be done with the interior by August, and the I would like to do the exterior that same month as I will have a ton of free time on my hands. After that I'll start putting up base and crown molding and maybe even get new carpet. I am putting all my projects I have for myself into my 2008 goals, and also into my calendar so that I am sure to get them all done. 2008 is the "Year of the House" for us.
